No, 33 isn't old to start. I didn't start until I was 31. I am in better condition now than at any other time in my life (and that includes my time in the military). We have a fellow in my school who is 50 and he'll be testing for his shodan this summer. He started at 46 I think.

The folks on this forum are a great bunch for brain picking. There is a lot of experience here from a lot of different styles and you'll be amazed at the way an idea from one style can really help you wrap your mind around something in your own style.
