Call him brash and cocky, Muhammed Lawal doesn't care. He's not going to back down from any challenge, so when a female reporter from Black Belt Magazine mentioned Fedor Emelianenko (3:55 mark - VIDEO) to a guy with just six pro mixed martial arts fights, "King Mo" wasn't about to say he needs time or that he's not ready (1:57 mark):

"If I played basketball and someone said hey Mo, 'you have the honor of guarding Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant or LeBron James,' Lawal said to Cagewriter. "What should I say, uh uh, they're too good?"

Mo said he'd be a coward if he said no to a Fedor fight and he should be out of the fight game.

For a guy with just five pro fights under his belt, Muhammed Lawal looked to have pretty good instincts during his match against Mike Whitehead. "King Mo" told Cagewriter that he had Whitehead timed in the early going. He allowed Whitehead to think his leg kicks were working and then bam, a combination floored the big guy.

Lawal also said he's going to seek out all the training he can and may even try K-1 down the road. At this point, don't write anything off for King Mo. He was one step from making the 2008 Olympics and even with only a half-dozen MMA fights, he doesn't seem fazed by any challenge.
