    Dan Hausel of Gilbert, Arizona, Grandmaster of Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate Kobudo Kai received invitations for induction into two Halls of Fame in 2010. Soke Hausel acknowledged receiving invitations to the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame scheduled January 8th & 9th at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City New Jersey & the Hall of Fame for Distinguished Accomplishments scheduled in Washington DC in 2010. He has had a distinguished career in martial arts over the past 45 years which includes teaching at 4 major universities. Hausel is a Grandmaster of Shorin-Ryu Karate & 10th degree black belt & no stranger to the Hall of Fame circuit. He has been inducted into 15 Halls of Fame, worldwide, since 1998. Being one of the top martial arts practitioners in the world is not easy, but being at the top of a second, unrelated field is unheard of. Hausel is considered by many to be one of the top geoscientists in North America & is a published author & artist. He authored >600 professional papers & contributed to 30 books. He has been invited to the HOF in Washington for his work & research in the geological sciences as well as contributions to the martial arts. In addition, he has also been nominated for three national & international awards for 2010: the International Einstein Award for Scientific Achievement, Magna Cum Laude Honor Award, & American Order of Merit for Professional Achievements. In 2009, he was inducted into Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America & nominated for Man of the Year. Grandmaster Hausel operates an international training center (Hombu) for Okinawan Martial Arts in Mesa, Arizona and is the head of Seiyo Kai International (http://Seiyo-ShorinRyu.webs.com) and member of Juko Kai International.
