HDGD Uniforms

I posted this on the haidong gumdo network but i figured I would also post here:

So after testing for my 1st dan in HDGD in 2005 I finally tested this past May for my 2nd.

I received my new belt and certificate (which is a lot smaller than my old one) and I also got a new (white) uniform.

Now to my question: Is there a reason for the changing of the uniforms at different ranks? I mean at color belt level we had all black, then at 1st dan we had dark blue, now 2nd dan is white and 3rd dan is the dark blue top and checked pants.

First of all congratulations on 2nd Dan.
As for the uniform changing colors as you progress through the ranks....I don't know. I don't remember if that question ever came up in our classes or not. Maybe its something as simple as them wanting to really distinguish the different ranks and masters? I don't know. If you do get an answer let me know as now that you asked, I am curious too.
