I was wondering what are the general stick sizes that people use for their systems.

I ask this because I was at my Serrada class, and I got some rattan sticks I picked up from the philippines and they were thicker and longer than everyone elses.

So now, I wanna play fair and have the right equipment.

Can someone help a brotha out?

This will depend on the system you are studying. When I started using sticks my instructor preferred sticks that where 1 inch beyond a closed fist and 1 inch beyond the elbow. I still revert back to that stick by habit much of the time but that size stick is much shorter than any that I have encountered in any other system. I think you will find that most use a 24 to 30 inch stick

For Modern Arnis, roughly two-and-a-half feet.
