The instructor is a master of sports in Sombo and is dan ranked in Judo, Karate and Aikido as well as what I believe is a modern form of jujutsu. Looks solid in terms of qualifications. You'll have to visit the school to see if the teaching environment is good for your child.

There will be some significant overlap with the curriculum that BJJ covers, but they're not the same thing. I'd have to see more to break down the specific differences for you.
