Anybody do this fun drill?
Using a knife.
You can use most any grip, but let’s say using forward hammer grip in your right hand (orthodox), start off with a simple:
jab, slash, slash.
Then, as an example,
Jab cross jab slash slash
Repeat in rapid succession, switching leads.
You just use your imagination from there.
Using a stick is practically the same, although instead of slash, it’s hit.
With a partner jabbing, you can slip and left parry his jab, slash, slash, jab. The first slash goes under his jab. The second slash is on the outside of his jab arm and the jab
goes to the face.
Fun combos that build speed and dexterity.
My teacher doesn’t allow videos, otherwise I’d post.
