83-Year-Old Deaf Woman Fights Off Would-Be Mugger

NEW YORK -- An 83-year-old deaf woman said she fought off a would-be mugger who put her in a chokehold and threw her to the ground as she got off the elevator at her Manhattan apartment building. Elsie Barretto said her attacker followed her into the East 94th Street building as she returned from grocery shopping. She said he assaulted her as she got off the elevator on her floor -- but that she fought back. Then he punched her in the face. The man fled when he heard someone coming. Barretto was left with a black eye and broken dentures.
She said she told police that if they find her assailant to bring him back to her so she can "punch him and ask why he did that."

Gads what a *****, attacking an old woman like that and a deaf woman to boot.
The woman is one of hundreds of thousands of deaf people that havent' learned signs (late deafened) but it still doesn't detract from her will to fight back and her anger is evident since she wants the police to bring the punk back to her so she can whup up on him.
