  • Updating my status, because apparently I think you should do that at least every 3 years.

Just started as an adventure guide for a zipline tour place. Very physical work and lots of time outdoors. Wish I was currently training so I could see how the activity impacts my MA.
Looking at the NGA techniques, considering changing the "classical" (formal teaching) version of some to the Judo version of the throw.
Forgot to update this. Found a new home for the program. Teaching at an Okinawan Shorin-ryu dojo nearby for the last month or so.
You locked my thread due to political discussion. I thought in the locker room forum it was like general discussion and you could chat about anything? My apologies if I am mistaken
Still looking for a new home for the program. Was hoping to be up and running again by the start of the year...
I've always found Asian grappling arts interesting. Sanchin Ryu teaches a lot of hand to hand tech similar to Aikido. The way Aikido direct energy is simply amazing. What are your thoughts on Sreven Segal?

Nihon Goshin Aikido is a different art (same "Aikido" family of arts), but I have experience with Ueshiba's Aikido. Segal seems to be good at the techniques, though it's hard to tell in most demos because of the nature of the attacks they use. Having watched some video of him teaching at seminars, he appears to be a good instructor.
