The crane lifts a ring on the rear, pulling it up onto itself.  Way kewl. The end result - the model is 5'7" (5'6" without the Timberlands). That pile is twice as deep as it is high, so you can imagine the pile of logs on our city corner lot. The load arrives - how many people have had a log truck on their driveway?? C'mon?? Well ... for a city-born gal, this was a big deal for me. The timber was loaded onto some never-again plush lawn for cutting and splitting. Here is a size comparison between the self-loader and my husband's 1980 Nissan King Cab pickup. You can see the rear has been pulled up onto the main rig.
