This is the worst annoying injury to have. Mallet finger occurs when you either snap or tear the extensor tendon at the tip of your finger from the bone. In my case, it just snapped in half. I could not straighten my finger tip at all. Took 3 months on being in a few different kinds of splints to fully recover. However, to this date, my finger is feeling stiff but usable. It's getting better by the day, but I hope I can get to the point to it feeling completely "normal" again. At least I can still punch well!
