I booked the 17th and 18th in my work schedule to make sure I had the time. I may not have the days of Vacation to take the 16th.

But the plan is to try and get out.

So I thought it was time to give an update on the 2009 Buffalo Martial Arts Expo. The Expo staff has been working overtime since the end of December to get things rolling. There will be monthly updates posted on several websites to keep everyone informed. Here is where we are at the moment:

We currently have three different websites dedicated to promoting the Expo and the related events:

All three of these sites have been recently updated. The sites are not complete yet, but our goal is to have everything finished by the end of February. We also have a Face Book group help keep everyone informed:

We will be having seminars at the Expo. The current list of instructors include Grand Masters Bobby Taboada, Max Pallen and Robert Castro. I have been in negotiations with several other Masters and Grand Masters to present at our event. The seminars will start on Friday night at Horizon Martial Arts. Saturday and Sunday the seminars will be held at the site of the Expo.

Now for the question that everyone keeps asking “How much will it cost?” The day pass for the Expo will be $10 per day. The pass will grant you access to the Trade Show, seating to view the Tournament and allow you not only watch the seminar, but actually participate in them. This alone is worth the value of admission!

Hey, the Meet and Greet is less than 2 months away and I have my hotel booked to get this party started!




Mid-October is high season for leaf peepers, those of you coming out may want to think about reservations soon. Each time I've been out I've shared a room with another female MT'er. I'll make the offer again, if there are any ladies that would like to share expenses and split the suite (its a nice one!) please let me know.

I'm taking an extended weekend and making plans to take some pictures on the way out and back, since the foliage will be beautiful. If anyone from New England would like to meet me at my home and ride out to WNY in my Hondar (small SUV) in exchange for a $$$ contribution, please let me know. I can accommodate up to three additional passengers (and their gear) comfortably.
