Muay Thai Muay Thai is commonly referred to as the "science of eight limbs," and is Thailand's national sport. Muay Thai is derived from the hand-to-hand aspect of the ancient Siamese art known as, "Krabi Krabong;" and was once performed for the entertainment of the King of Siam. Muay Thai is known for its distinct rituals, incredible conditioning, devastating round (Thai) kicks and the merciless use of knees and elbows.

Parinya Charoenphol Movie.

A recent wire story (AP, 5 Nov. 2002) discusses the upcoming movie "Beautiful Boxer" starring Assani Suwan as Parinya Charoenphol, transvestite (and later, transsexual) Thai boxer. It states that Assani Suwan is the 5th-ranked fighter according to the World Assoc. of Thai Kickboxing and that he found learning ballet and other musical talents the hard part of the role.

There was a big article and a bunch of photos in a recent Muay Thai magazine from Black Belt. It was one of those "black belt presents" kind of things. Got the mag a few months ago.
