Shaolin Kenpo Karate

Hi there,

I've read that the origins of Shaolin Kenpo Karate go back to the Japanese Samurais and the Shaolin Monks. Could anyone tell me something more about it's origins or how it's been transmited till our days?

Re: Shaolin Kenpo Karate

Which branch are you referring to?

The first google search gave http://www.shaolinkenpo.com under Ralph Castro.

The previous poster has a bit of a point. My guess is that you are asking about Shaolin Kempo Karate, as in founded (sort of) by Fred Villari, but he is correct, there is an entirely unrelated Shaolin Kenpo created by the Castros.

If you are looking for info on Shaolin Kempo, please see my website:

Re: Shaolin Kenpo Karate

Technically speaking, the word "kenpo" with the N is derivative (sp - prescription narcotics haze) of the chinese lineage systems, and "kempo" with the M are japanese lineage. Other than that, the two biggest offshoots with the Shaolin name attached are the Castro and the Villari lines. Although, I can recall a few others.

Can you be more specific?
