Sudanese woman flogged for wearing trousers?!?

Actually, she got off easy with a fine. Most likely because if the heavy publicity the case has garnered.

I post this not as a way to gape at some distant country's "savagery," although there is that factor too. My point is more that we in the west should not take our rights for granted. I see Hussein as a modern-day Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and we can all learn from her courage and dedication. I get the feeling this is just the beginning of her campaign.

As such, I think it's a good opportunity for us (men as well!) to ask ourselves - what am I doing to uplift my community and its freedoms?
