Of course when only given the choice between a Republican candidate and a Democratic candidate Tea Party members would overwhemingly choose the Republican. Which candidate would a Socialist Party member choose? Does that make Socialists and Democrats one in the same? Well, some people will argue they are for much the same reason some people argue the Tea Party and Republicans are the same. To create a meme for vilification and marginalization.

I don't know about you, but the Tea Party movement generally is Astroturfed through and through. FreedomWorks, funding from billionaires, shot through with Republicans...hardly the independent grass roots movement that even the members think they have. I can't even say that the third party pressure is a good thing, because mainstream Republican politicians have mainly responded by pandering to the worst elements (birtherism, etc.) rather than the best.

They are also big supporters of Isreal and attack Islam at every chance. Who do you think is behind that? I do not see how anyone can think of them as anything other than racist when they spend all their time attacking a black president and look to icons like racist Dr Laura.

But we have seen what happens to the spreaders of hate. Dr Laura, a jew and supporter of Isreal, will not be able to renew her contract when it comes up. She is only the first of many. Now that people of color have seized a bit of power it is time people find out that the first ammendment is not a liscense to speak without responsibility.

I'm curious to if you actually heard the context of Dr. Laura's comments. It's available on youtube.

I will tell you, I am black, and I can certainly understand her position.
