Some Vietnames martial arts (Viet Vo Dao) pages:
Interesting histroy (http://cclib.nsu.ru/projects/satbi/satbi-e/martart/vietnam.html).
Cuong Nhu (http://www.cuongnhu.com/index.lasso).
Vovinam (http://www.vovinam.com/).
Vovinam interview (http://www.jlab.org/intralab/committees/jag/Vovinam/interview.html).
Than Vo Dao (http://www.sevenmountainskungfu.com/System.html).
Evidently there are a number of Sino-Vietnamese martial arts as well (what might be called kuntao systems in Indonesia or the Philippines).

Interesting, thanks! I searched and found something of a followup:

It's from a Cuong Nhu online magazine:

Also there is a Wing Chun line in Viet Nam that the rest of the world did not know about till around 4 or 5 years ago. I read it in a magazine that interviewed the school. It evolved over many years as did other arts that are tranferred to another country.
I'll look for the article and see if I can scan to an accepable size to fit in here, maybe several parts to make it fit.

I don't know much about the weapons, but yes they were strongly influenced by the Chinese arts. Many are really just the local interpretation of a Chinese kung fu system.
