I'm exiting the hosting market in a few days. Kenpotalk will continue to operate, as will MartialTalk. So no one worry. I'll still be around to help everyone with their web related needs too.
But as this is an income hit, I'll be needing to see MT & KT generate more cash so please check out our sponsors, and consider becoming a supporting member. It keeps the sites running, and my cats fed. Plus I am now available for on-site and in-school photo shoots. If interested, contact me for details. These shoots put cash in both our pockets.
Thanks :)
MT's on schedule for software updates in early July, so don't think we're going anywhere.
To All Current Clients of SilverStar WebDesigns Inc:
It is with sadness that I announce that effective July 1st 2010, SilverStar WebDesigns Inc. is exiting the hosting market. Since our inception in 2001, we have prided ourselves on providing top quality hosting with a personalized attention to excellent service. Unfortunately, market forces have made it difficult to continue as we have. Rather than take the easy way out and sell off accounts to some fly-by-night churn-n-burn company, we have made arrangements with our largest reseller to take over hosting and support for all of our clients and resellers.
I know that whenever there is a change with a web host, there are legitimate concerns and fears. I want to assure everyone that there is no need to worry, that if there were, I would not be doing this at this time.
I'll try to put everyone's mind at ease here. The only thing to note right now is that any invoices issued for hosting after July 1st will bear a different company name, and there is a new number to call for tech support.
Your sites are remaining on the same web server they are on now, there are no changes needed to DNS, name servers, etc. Pricing and packages will remain locked for at least one year. There will be no downtime as a result of this change.
I hope that helps put everyone's mind a bit more at ease.
I would like to introduce you all to my chosen 'successor'. After a lot of hard thought, and negotiations that took well over a year as we hammered out every detail we could, I'll be moving our hosting business to Ken Stuczynski with Kentropolis Internet. http://kentropolis.com/
Because I've prided myself on having a close business relationship with my clients, many of you are my friends today as a result. So, I would like to introduce you to my friend Ken.
I've known Ken since 1988 when we met at D'Youville College. In 1999 I needed a host for my first website. Ken was that host. Over the years both of our businesses grew, and we went in different directions, eventually with Ken moving his business to SilverStar's servers. As we both grew and worked closer together, we found a solid synergy in our efforts. These past few years, whenever I've needed someone to help support my customers, or handle tech support and keep an eye on the server, Ken's been “my goto guy”. Ken has said many times he wouldn't want to be in business without me, and I feel the same way. He's been more than a business partner, he's family, and I consider him my brother.
I feel I can trust and rely on him to continue to provide my clients with the excellent service, attention to detail, and compassion that I have tried to bring to our relationships. Kentropolis offers the same services SilverStar did, though his packages and pricing are different. Over the next year Ken will be introducing himself to everyone when it's time to renew your hosting, as well as letting you know what services his company can offer you. I sincerely hope you will give him a chance to serve your hosting needs.
I in the mean time will be stepping back and focusing more on back end solutions and web design, as well as keeping an eye on the servers and continuing to ensure that things run smoothly for everyone. I'll still be around, and when you need that extra bit of R&D or deep detective work I'll most likely be the guy you'll talk to. For most questions, especially billing and customer support, you'll talk to Ken.
If there are -any- questions or -any- concerns, please, call me or email me. People worry about change, and I want to assure everyone that everything is going to be great.
Thank you for 10 wonderful years as your web host.
