In Southern Calif, there is a Iaido class at University State California Irvine (UCI), and I was just wondering if anyone knew what style of Iai this class is. I believe that the head instructor of this class practices at The Japanese Culture Center in Buena Park (for you So. Cal natives).

Last I heard, the instructor was Anthony Foo, one of the senior assistant instructors in Yamazaki Sensei's dojo. As I recall, Yamazaki Sensei is founder of the Iai-Tate-do Federation, which is a gendai art based on traditional techniques from Omori-ryu and Kashima-ryu.

Anthony is a good guy, good iai too. I competed against him years ago - intense focus and control. I think if he is still teaching the UCI class, you'd be in good hands.
