is it back to street fighting on youtube ? http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhDKHc37WKOaR0Hi2n

i think , just him thinking on his ground game and ground game defense has messed em up a bit , i feel he hasnt quite found himself in mma yet ! his stand up is great but making it work with the rest of the sport has been difficult for him ... what do you guys think ?

I have a funny feeling he will compete in TUF again. They have been letting a looser come back and fight at least once every season. I think he will get another chance. I will admit.... my opinion of him is changing. I didnt like him.... now I am starting to.
Everyone starts at the bottom...literaly in MMA.... he will have to learn to fight from there. I think he is more than capable of doing it.

i think the guy can fight.. TUF was probably a platform to launch win or lose.. It gave the MMA fans a chance to get to know him outside of the ring.. I think it was brilliant..

I've watched him fight not-great opponents, and win. That isn't great, it may be his strength, but he isn't a "great" standup fighter.

i hope he dies a fiery death (career wise) and is never heard from again

I used to think the same thing.... but now I am actually rooting for him. he seems like a humble guy who wants to learn and actually takes direction. was he ready for the "big" leagues.... probably not. But I wish him well.

What's next for Kimbo Slice?

How about putting him into a sitcom where he plays a former tough guy street figher who marries a nice, sweet, cultured lady and has a couple of nice sweet kids and tries to fit into calm suburban life?

I would not be surprised if he got another TUF fight before it's over. He sells, Dana White loves what sells.

True.

For all the smack talking that Dana did about him, the rating don't lie and the ratings= $. I don't think we've seen the last of Kimbo in the UFC.

Kimbo Vs Brock?

Get a group discount on the Foreman Grill, the Kimbo Slice (you can even cut a tin can with it...but you wouldn't want to!) and the Slapchop. That's a trifecta of ugly looking pitchmen if ever there was one!

Peace,
Erik

his last match in TUF, that he lost, was pretty unimpressive on his part. i don't see how he's improved from his first MMA debut. Dana White made it out as if Kimbo did a really good job, but i didn't see that. i saw a stand up fighter get taken down easily and pretty much man handled into submission. IMO Kimbo is lucky that the other fighter wasn't a serious ground and pounder or else Kimbo would have really gotten hurt bad. He didn't shrimp, he didnt buck, he didn't do anything on the ground to improve his position. Even the referee was generous to Kimbo, trying to give him a chance to keep going.

Dana White will try and milk him for all he's worth, since he smells dollar signs. He will most likely bring him back to fight again, and they will somehow rig it so that he gets a contract, which will lead to a big payday for Kimbo and a UFC fight. which is what Dana White wants. We'll just have to see i guess...

Standup is obviously his strength. However, he has no takedown defense or ground game. According to Bas Rutten Kimbo basically refuses to train those two aspects of a fight saying, "It won't go to the ground."

He seems like a nice guy but think he has too much pride when it comes to his standup game - thinking it is all he needs to be successful. If he can be convinced otherwise he could be a pretty good mixed martial artist. Though the UFC is still too much for him and he will never be of that caliber.

Kimbo has alot of potential. Its just that he has went from fighting the average street thug to fighting martial artists. So he is fighting a whole new caliber of fighters that he is not used to. Of course he is going to struggle a bit while learning. People are way to hard on that guy.
