How many of you make your own boards?

I never gave much thought on boards, but I saw them at a store going for $1 a piece :eek: .

Back in my day, I also did a lot breaking (kyukpa).

I'm thinking of trying to make my own boards out of pine, with just wood that can be bought almost anywhere, with a power saw and some sandpaper. Anyone have their own tips?

#3 Pine. A plank can come in 6',8', 10' and 12' lengths. It's 3/4" thick and the norm is 81/2" to 9" wide for the cut.
