Nice looking blades, and yes they are very sharp. However, the handles are in the wrong position in relation to the tip of the blade. Handle , spine and tip should be in alignment. Most reproduction Butterfly Swords are make incorrectly.

Yes now that you mention it , they do look slightly different than the ones my Sifu had hanging up on the wall .

They are correct/incorrect in relation to your style. For Hung Gar they are correct http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAy7orUp1O0
For Wing Chun they are not correct.

My old sifu had the same complaint about the design of most reproduction Bart Cham Dao. He said that the "Butterfly Swords" commonly seen are not the Wing Tsun Bart Cham Dao, but inferior reproductions of a larger, heavier weapon used by some other stlyles. The Wing Tsun version is also tapered a bit towards the tip.
