Lion Dance

Just curious how many of your schools out there train Lion Dance and what kind of methodology do you use to train? Does everyone train every part (Lion Head, Lion Tail, Gongs, Cymbals, Drums) or do people specialize? Do you work on acrobatics at all?

I do, but I'm from a Southern style so Lion Dance is as important as the Fu.

Everybody learns all the parts of the dance skills (head & tail, Dai To Fut, Instruments, routines) but like with everything when a person shows an aptitude for one part or another, focus will be given to that area for performing while the other skills are worked on to bring them up as well but possibly not for performance.

Bottom line is, everybody can do everything for the lion, but some do have assigned roles.
