Hello Fighters and Fight Fans

I have started a business called Raining Bombs to help support local MMA fighters in Australia and New Zealand. A link to the site is at the bottom of this message...

It is early days but I have selected 3 great fighters to help in 2009... Brice Ritani-Coe currently training at Xtreme Couture, Sergio Cabral and Eilleen Forrest in Qld, Australia.

I have set up a members area with bonus info and fight announcements for these fighters and other events. For Aust and NZ fans there will be a lot of great events in 2009 which I will put up on the site.

For US fans I will be listing all events that Brice enters into. He is currently storming through the US Super Heavyweights.

There is also a T-shirt giveaway for those that sign up as a member and I am keeping the comp open to international members.

Thanks for reading this thread and I look forward to a huge MMA year here downunder and internationally.

Also please help spread the word by telling your friends about the website, the majority of profits raised are put straight back into the sport and helping to grow MMA in Aust and NZ.

ps. Is the UFC ever going to do a show in Australia???

Er tactful name? probably a good job you're down under, a name like that here would be viewed somewhat strangely after 7/7 etc.

good luck though!

Thanks Tez3

I know what you mean.

It's purely an MMA Ground n Pound styled name but I'm probably listed on a few International Goverment Agency websites.

I deliberately put "MMA Style" on the back of the tshirt design to help minimise the confusion... although now I wonder if non MMA fans will think MMA is some fundamentalist group.

but don't worry I will be screening the members signups to remove any known terrorist names from the site.

What promoters here are doing is trying to get away from the 'blood and guts' style of advertising and promotion names to make them more sports orientated. We want to get away from the image of MMA as a blood sport that has been put forward in the past. We want people to see it for what it is, a competition of skill and bravery not 'human cock fighting'
the names are things like Pride & Glory (ours), Cage Warriors, Strike & Submit, Angrr Management, Strength & Honour, Fight Factory, The Champions are a few we have. We try to keep the posters looking attractive without bloodstained fighters etc which is soemthing from the past. The ring girls too have changed to being attractive girls but not cheap or tarty and they wear shorts, t shirts etc instead of thongs. The fightes prefer it that way. We need to be on the par with boxing if we are to stay in business! I think we'll do it too!

We had one of our fighters go out to Oz, I'll see if he's still fighting, scary guy originally South African.
