payong system

i was just wondering if anybody there in the US practiced this old form of knife, mainly used against a empty handed opponent...

Hi there:

Can you describe it? Payong is umbrella, right? Is there alot of under-cutting of the limb? Reverse/Ice-pick grip on the knife? I would think any knife vs. open hand is a poor contest for the open-hand person if the knifer is trained.
