Well, my Boot leave is up, and I go to MCT tomorrow (for a month). For those that don't know, MCT stands for Marine Combat training, and it's were us non-Infantry types go off and become riflemen. I've called it Boot Camp phase four a couple of times. After that, I'll go to my MOS school at Fort Leonard Wood MO (yes, the Army base) for 13 weeks. However, they might give me Recruiters Assistance after MCT. So, I might be home for Christmas. I'd rather just go straight through. Either way, when I get to my MOS school, I might have a couple weekends off, and I should be able to buy a lap top, so I might be back in contact with you guys in mid to late December.

So, can any Marines tell me if I actually can buy a lap top/get a few weekends off.

Leonard Wood has a good PX, you'll be able to buy whatever you want there. The Air Force has a bunch of our Tech Schools there. If you deploy, YOU WANT A LAPTOP. If you're staying in Barracks at Leonard Wood though, there will be no internet. The base library will have plenty of computers that you can get to. Generally by that level you'll be getting some time off to go to PX, go to Library, go off Post, etc.

Depending on your command, you could have weekends off once you get to your MOS school. If you buy a laptop, make sure you keep it locked away when you're not using it.

Oh, and uh, say hello to Mt. Mother. ;) Don't drop out on the march to Range 314 or you'll be humping that damn thing every morning.
