it is very hard to type this, but on 7-12-08 at 11:04 pm est my wifes father (pop) passed away he was 85, he went in the hospital for a broken hip, and when the operation was over, he had a hard time breathing, he had something called
"copd" i dont even know what that is, on sat,the 12th we took mom down to the jersey shore for the day just to get her away, well no sooner than we got there they called us back to the hospital,and after they told mom that it is just a matter of time, we (the whole family) went in and one by one we told pop how much we love him,(his eyes were closed and he was not moving)
so mom was talking to him saying that she will be alright,well this went on into the night, so i said to mom, mom tell pop that it's ok for him to go home, to be with his mother, so we all left except for mom and when she came out of the room pop stopped breathing and went home, it is a very sad time.

Sorry for your lost but your wife father had a very productive life and he is in a better place. My pryers and thought will be for the family to have the strength to know this. :asian:

COPD is a terrible disease—people who suffer from it literally fight for every breath, and they suffer horribly. It's very sad to lose a beloved family member or friend, but the fact that he no longer suffers from that unendurable pain is something that might help offset the grief you feel because you've lost him.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease in which the airways that carry air in and out of your lungs are partly obstructed making it difficult to breathe. Emphysema is one form of COPD & usually diagnosed in patients who smoke.
