Have already gotten requests for file transfers, and more colors...oh, and more smilies.

I'm open to color schemes too, as it seems the lighter text colors don't show up very well on the defaults.

- I don't think this is feasible but it would be nice if there was a way to autocomplete names (like presssing tab in mIRC). Comunicaton goes better if we spell those nicknames right

- I don't supose its possible to auto register when you log into the fourms?

- Can you connect to the chat in any way besides a browser web app?

One thing I'd like to see:

A button from the forum linking to the chatroom that will open it up in a new window.

Unless it's already set there and I'm just friggin' blind. :)

I'm going to work on a new button layout, and will have the 'Chat' link in there.

I am looking into how to darken the background. I think that will open up more colors for use.

I'll see if theres a hack to do that. You can click on the name on the right to direct a public message, or click on a name in the 'chat' area to target a private message.

Not in the current configuration. I'm still looking into ways to tie it into the forum user database directly. Havent found a 'safe' way yet.

No. This chat room is a clientside application writen in php that links to a mysql backend. Its only accessible thru a web browser. I looked into running a private ICR chanel here, and it was too severe on the server. (IRC tends to be a server hog, AFAIK)

More smilies will be added slowly. Maybe a couple a week as I have time.

ok, youre right, and Im wrong. I just ran some tests and it seems 'locked' to a certain size.
What resolution are you running your system at?
I think its a CSS issue in the code, but I'll look into it.

- Some way to indicated away status. like Elfan|away or something like that.

Okay call me stupid but how do you get the damn thing to work! I go to the place, type in my name and password, press just chat and then it goes to a blank page with the time at the bottom before going straigh back to the password screen! what do I do :confused:

After running several tests, we have determined that due to proprietary coding, the AOL 'browser' is incompatable with the chatroom software. This is due to known issues with CSS and javascripts not working in AOLs browsers.

Note, you should be able to use any one of those browsers while using the AOL service, and they are available for free. There should be no cost to implement this work-around.

Since i very close to being almost completely computer illiterate, I will say, "Me like chatroom, very easy to work!"

Who's Chatting? feature is a no-go at this time. I tried for a few hours to get it to work, and each time it would crash both the forum and the chatroom. I'm going to do more research and try again later.

Chatroom usernames now allow upto 30 characters.

We just ran into another problem, minor yet wanting to report it.

I did not see "Grant" log in until he posted. I then refreshed and he was there and all was well for me.

Yet Grant wanted to know about the latest changes. Double spacing and font changes. He was/is using I.E. 5.5

Just FYI, neither of us see this as a show stopper :D

Yeah its pretty cool, I just wish someone was on at the same time as me :shrug:

A couple of times I have popped my head in about 8pm est, and if I see others have popped in, I'll leave a message with a time I'll be back. Then others will see it and join me then.

Another idea is to see who's online when you are, and pm them that you will be chatting & when. This also has worked.

This probably goes in the infeaseble category but... IE at least makes a clicking noise when a page loads. Because the chatroom is constantly reloading, it constantly makes that clicking noise, which gets very annoying after a while. I don't supose there is some way to deal with that.

Hey I used the chat button, but it loaded all weird-

text was inverted, color button was standard, did I stuble onto a beta mode or something? I had to exit & re-enter.

This makes the chat very confusing to say the least. I'm not sure if this is a mozilla issue or one with the chat room.

IE did that to me last night, then I used /order command and reloaded, which then worked properly. I told Elf- who tried it and got invalid command. Now I don't see the command on my help file- which affirms my suspicion I inadvertantly stumbled on a mod command page or something. Jeez- if I only knew the power was mine I'd have banished you all!

Note that Tommy girl never exits the room even though she comes back in. At the time I cut and pasted there was no exit message for her 2nd visit but she was no longer there.

I think what it is, is that if you 'exit' it announces it, but if you just close the browser or surf to another page, it doesnt record the 'exit'.

hmm you appear to be correct.

I'm having problems again in the chat room.

Ever other time I try to send a message in the chat I get thrown off and get the login page. I can see that I'm still a part of the chat room, even if I have to log in again.
