It seems to have much more of a Shaolin influence than the usual stand-up-straight Wing Chun systems--somewhat like the Wing Choon (http://www.martialtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6296) system.

Chi Sim Weng Chun is different from "the stand up Wing Chun". CS traces its roots directly back to the Southern Shaolin Temple. The first character used in Weng Chun is different than in Wing Chun thus the difference in spelling. Chi Sim Weng Chun is a complete system unto itself. Master Andreas Hoffman is the inheritor to this system.
If you ever get a chance to attend a seminar by Master Hoffman I would strongly recommend doing so!
