Rash Guards under Gi

I was curiously looking around and once noticed that some competition organizations don't allow t-shirts and rash guards under the Gi, does anyone here know why?
I know some like NAGA do allow them, I was wondering why some orgs would not allow them?

I'm not sure, but I think it might have something to do with old school jiu jitsu tradition.

Because people can get their fingers caught in the material when attempting grips.

Ladies have to wear them lol! wish they didn't really as it's so hot but guess for modesty it has to be!

At my school we don't HAVE to, a well constructed undergarment suffices in the summer.
