There doesn't seem to be many places at least in NY that teach hapkido. Compared to other stlyes of martial arts, ( i do know that some tkd schools teach varying amounts of hapkido) Is the there just a small number of practitioners?

Relative to TKD, definitely--though you may find that many schools listed as TKD schools also teach HKD "on the side".

Brothershaw,
I'm in the same boat as you. I really want to learn Hapkido, but I also live in upstate NY. Chris is willing to help with that, though ;)

While not hapkido, Kuk Sool Won is similar. Look on this page (www.kuksoolwon.com/schools.htm) and scroll down to New York. Good luck.

I am in the city and i came across about 4 schools that taught hapkido, which compared to the amounts of kung fu, karate , and jujitsu schools is a pretty small number. No longer looking for a hapkido school, although it does seem interesting.
