I'm looking to add a Chinese Jian to my collection. I'm familiar with Japanese blades, along with European blades, but when it comes to Chinese blades, I need some help here.

1) I'm not looking for some high dollar, custom made Jian. If anything, think of my purchase as looking for something well-made, durable, and no-frills. Production blades are fine in this case.

2) Any particular materials (steel) favored for a Jian?

"The usual suspects" along with "the usual caveats"....
It's rather hard to beat CAS Iberia and their Han Wei line.....
