What sort of combatives training does this unit use? What type of techniques do they train in? Thoughts?

"The Paratroopers Brigade (חטיבת הצנחנים, Hativat HaTzanhanim) is a unit of paratroopers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paratrooper) within the Israel Defense Forces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Defense_Forces) (IDF) it's part of central command. It has a history of carrying out special forces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_forces)-style missions dating back to the 1950s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1950s). It is currently involved primarily in counter terror (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counter_terror) operations within the West Bank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank).
The brigade was created at the mid 1950 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1950)'s when the controversial commando Unit 101 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_101) was merged with Battalion 890 (the IDF's Airborne Commando unit) in order to form an elite infantry brigade. The new unit was equipped with the IMI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI) Uzi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzi) submachine gun as their primary weapon as it provided light and small automatic fire - essential properties for recon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reconnaissance) units and commandos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commando).
The goals in creating the Paratroopers Brigade were:

To have an elite infantry force.
To innovate and improve fighting skills within other infantry units.
To raise the next generation of military commanders and officers. "

I had a friend who was in the Golani Brigade during the Yom Kippur War. He said they were taught Krav Maga like everyone else. Mostly it was a matter of "Grab him and elbow him until he falls down."

Combatives in infantry units are usually restricted to how to use a rifle as a blunt weapon. Sometimes they might teach you the basic stance and a few punches, but that's usually it.
