This is a style in my local area and was wondering if it is an effective style? And whatare its characteristics?

Fujian White Crane is pretty well known.
You can get lots of info on it on Google.

Yup I have but there are a few White Crane stylists on the board and they could tell you a lot more about it than I. Like Shifu who posted before me and Flying Crane too, but I do not think he is Fujian White Crane.

nah, Tibetan white crane for me. entirely different.
