Okay the standard Krav Maga knife defense where you stop the attack with a forearm and strike and then move into control. Most Krav Maga techniques that I have been taught are great. This particular one I am not a fan of as the standard way it is taught you do not get off line of the incoming knife thrust. What is everyone else's take on this?

I'll have to ask my bosses sister (Previously Krav Maga instructor for the Israeli military) but her twin sister (in the military not krav maga instructor) thinks that strike has to do with being limited by lateral mobility.

Such as in a doorway or in a corner.

Okay that would make perfect sence it just was not
taught that way to me. I have been trying to find
video and will post one once I find a good representation.

Could it be for when you're caught by surprise and haven't time to get off-line? Otherwise, I agree with you!

Even in enclosed space you can rotate your hips as easily if not more so than you can shoot them straight back.

And the rotation will generate power for your stun as well.
