View Full Version : Please Vote!
Ian Kinder 11-06-2006, 11:56 PM Please vote on November 7th! Don't succumb to voter apathy. Party direction is an issue for Primaries. In a General election, you need to choose the best available candidates. Turn out for midterm elections are historically low and polling is showing a number of close races, so turn out is critical. Please recruit other freedom minded individuals to vote and encourage them to help spread the word as well.
If you have not already, read the 2006 Special Election edition of The Edge, which is available as a free download at www.glsda.org (http://www.glsda.org). You can read articles written for GLSDA members by Michigan Gubernatorial Candidate Dick DeVos, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, United States Senate Candidate Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard and Michigan State Representative Rick Baxter. This newsletter contains a number of valuable resources for Michigan residents, including information about obtaining a sample ballot. CPL holders can also obtain important information about reciprocity, directly from the AG himself!
Thank you for your patriotism.

Arizona Angel 11-07-2006, 01:23 AM I plan to vote. Must retain my right to complain!
morph4me 11-07-2006, 10:00 AM I voted, although these days I tend to vote against candidates, not for them. I also want to retain my right to complain
bluemtn 11-07-2006, 04:49 PM I voted about an hour ago.
mrhnau 11-07-2006, 04:52 PM I voted, although these days I tend to vote against candidates, not for them.
Sadly that is the case for me too.
Regionally, we did not have any US Senate or Governor elections... Still, should be interesting to see how the House turns out :) I'll be watching the returns tonight!
Bob Hubbard 11-07-2006, 04:59 PM Just came back from voting...thankfully still on our old reliables and not touch screens.
Not a single vote for either the Democratic or Republican party. I cast all votes under third parties so as to help their numbers out.

I did not have any third party options at all! As a matter of fact, a few of the races were not even contested.
Bob Hubbard 11-07-2006, 05:12 PM Had a few of those here too. I left them blank. At the moment, it's still an option.
bluemtn 11-07-2006, 05:45 PM For the first time in 12 years, I voted a straight ticket. It's just I liked more on the one party than the other. I told my mom what I did, she acted like I was a nut, because it's out of character for me. I'm not extreme republican or democrat or 3rd party, I'm for whom I think would be best.
Andy Moynihan 11-07-2006, 05:49 PM I'll be going in a bit, though I'm not sure exactly why I bother anymore.
Ping898 11-07-2006, 08:30 PM "Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves - and the only way they could do that is by NOT voting" - Franklin D.Roosevelt, 1938
Kacey 11-07-2006, 09:32 PM I voted on Friday... after waiting in line 2 hours, the 5 or so minutes it took me to enter my votes was rather anti-climatic.
The Master 11-08-2006, 12:07 AM The American People are simply put, stupid. They have forgotten who they are. They have allowed, yes allowed, corrupt politicians to remain in office, to pass laws and policy that are only enrich a select few, and that deny others a chance to take back this once great nation. The American People have grown lazy, complacent, and easily distracted. They lack the will to take back their country, instead drooling out excuses as to why they can't possibly effect change, doing nothing, then complaining when nothing changes.
The only way we will ever force those we have allowed to abuse their power to listen, will be to as a nation, rise up, and cast them out. The first step, is to show up, in record numbers, in defiance of every obstacle they throw up at us, and vote. When the voting fails, when the rigged elections are made public and the sheep media forced to make it known, then sterner measures can be considered.
For now.
Vote. Regularly, Often and Intelligently!
I did.
Goldendawn8 11-18-2006, 06:29 PM I agree that voting is good.
