southpaw?

hi , i may look stupid asking this (forgive me ive only been doing muay thai for a month) , but ive been hearing about the "southpaw stance" , is it just the normal muay thai stance or is it an alternative stance or is it from a conpletely diferent matial art? any help appreciated

Orthodox - left foot forward

southpaw - right foot forward

The origins have to do with baseball, and left handed pitchers throwing from the south side or something like that :)

o rite ok thanks , i thought it was something like that , it mentioned southpaw and unorthadox in "tao of jeet kune do" i think
