Hello everyone:
I need some training tips! I would like to become faster in my kicks, punches, and sparring. What do you ladies do in order to achieve the effects you want? Holla back

I have done this, it is called wallaces. After Bill Wallace, world champion. He would hold the side of the wall, chamber a round house kick and do several reps before putting his leg down.
I have done this and I have known ladies in hapkido do this as well. I have seen and can say first hand that this is a great exercise that builds speed and power.

There 2 training kicks Bruce Lee tought to males 7 female,These will help you 100%.The water in the hose is the 1st.Imagine a fire hose & when the water rushes threw it.It becomes hard. This is how the leg must be when you kick to make Power & a commitment kick. The flick it like your shoe laces are untieds & you try to flick flies out of the air. This teaches speed & recovery.Combind them you have speed & power.Lack in power -do water in hose.Lack in speed do the flick.

My school has "olympics" a few times a year and we all challenge each other to see who can do the mosts punches, kicks, pushups, etc. in 60 seconds.
Its a lot of fun and develops speed and focus. :)

Speed's not one of my goals, I focus on timing and precision. I don't have any particular advice, but practice usually yields results!
Good luck with your training :)

I do the same thing the guys do - practice, and then practice, and then practice some more... also, general fitness helps with speed and flexibility, so other forms of exercise and stretching can help as well. I can't think of anything specific to gender to suggest, sorry.

Pop over to the health tips section, there are some threads in this regard which might be worth a read through.

practice, practice, practice. After you have gotten your technique right then work on speed. If you say your puches are in great i nthe form department just practice punching slowly increasing speed/ Never increase speed and lose technique. Everything is timing and technique. Also in kicking to be faster dont work against gravity use it to your advantage. Marriage of gravity can be very helpful.
