This gets a mixed response from me. I don't mind Adobe but think that they may end up killing the product because they have products that do similiar things. I don't think they will get rid of dreamweaver but look for a product that incorporates all the rest. Image ready with flash, Fireworks with Image Ready, or something to that effect.

So I really don't know what to think of this. I actually like macromedias products better but adobe is a big and strong company. Time will only tell i guess.

Here are some links giving some info....

i hope they dont kill dreamweaver for GoLive
i doubt they would tho!
i think the main reason why they bought macromedia is coz they didnt want microsoft to buy them
what we know for sure is they gonna be boosting macromedia flash coz microsoft is coming up with their own flash studio (may not be called flash actually)
those guys up north are going coocoo man!
big fish eating small fish everyday!

I think it could be a good thing if they maintained both product lines. Then they'd have entry-level and power-user apps.

Yup...but I can easily see them letting one whither. Isn't that usually what happens?

true
i think it would be the smarter move if they let GoLive go and keep macromedia!
some mergers, or buy-outs, do keep the competitive product because it supercedes the buyer's own product
example: oracle keeping siebel because it kicks butt on OracleCRM

i think they will not kill macromedia, but in later releases it will be somehow merged with GoLive or they would share a new different sand box or something
