Ninjutsu is an art of many arts; a system of many systems; an experience of many experiences through enlightenment along the same road within the martial way.

I went to a seminar this year & met a real live Ninja.
He was down to earth & had a lot of knowledge.
He said That Most of what we here is not true.
He said that The Nija Were made up of Family's.

There is a lot of Movies that make them out to be spy's
Murder's & even Super Humans.

I respect what this Guy had to say & show
But for the life of me i cant remember his name.
It was at Bill Adams School.

The Ninja must have been verry special
Cause we are still trying to find out about them
Today

Chiduce...........Could you be anymore vague?????:D

As people have mentioned there are some websites out there with plenty of info.

As for opinions..........I have met a lot of people in Japan that think it is a joke.......I know some people that study it............ one of my friends of more than 20 years is a yudansha student of Hatsumi Masaki, current Head of the Bujinkan.
If you were looking to start a flame war you picked a good topic as the feelings run very strong on both sides.

Why don't you try read what is posted instead of trying to read something into what is posted......

Listen This is what He told me
Not what i came up with

All i did was to repeat what he said.
At his Seminar, I respected him for it.

If this is what this is all about U should have sais so.

I have an intrist In Ninjitsu & the Ninja
Or else i would not have spent Money on a guy i never hedrd of
& a school i don't go to.

If this is y U wish for war.
Then U have taken what i said the wrong way.

He gave a great seminar.
If Bill Adams has him back I will go again.

Ok, one more time for the "linguistically impaired".

My comment above was not asking for a flame war but stating that the topic of Ninja/Ninjutsu is/has/usually ends up in heated discussion or flame wars. This is due to the fact that people that study Ninjutsu feel very strongly about their art and also due to that fact that Ninjutsu has had so much fiction put out in movies and books many people have gotten the wrong idea about it and therefore do not understand it which leads to the above mentioned "flame war" ....I am not sure if I can make it any more basic than that.

Ace,

Take a look at this website http://www.philelmore.com/profiling/fieldguidetotrolls.htm and go under the section marked Virtual Tough Guys

Primo, guy you're thinking of that was at Bill Adams is Will Maier
Ninjutsu Senior Master Instructor, Student of Grand Master Hatsumi

video clip is at adams website : http://bestinmartialarts.com

From what i've heard, it was a very good seminar that I sadly missed.

To expand on RyuShiKan's comment, the topic of Ninja/Ninjitsu/Ninjutsu is a hot one at times. The various groups have thier own issues, and for every Van Donk, there is an Ashida Kim. I believe at this point in time, Jay Bell is our resident expert, though I know we have a few others too.

Though I truly appreciate your kind words, Kaith, I'm far from being an expert at any of this. There are far greater minds in the Ninpo community then mine.

If Ninjutsu was originally the art of stealth and assassination, then how, if it is the same art today, can it be taught as self defense?

Just wondering....

Ninjutsu and Ninpo Taijutsu be two different manimals. ;)

And, to note, there doesn't seem to be much evidence for "ninja assassins". Or, at least that's what Mr. Turnbull says. :uhyeah:

I am going to have to disagree quite strongly with Heretic888 with his breaking down both ninjutsu and ninpo taijutsu into two different things. I think if you were to answer the question about how ninjutsu can be a modern martial art you should look at this thread (http://www.martialtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18495) at first and realize that an agent working deep behind enemy lines was not very concerned with beating other people up, but was very interested in getting away alive. So ninjutsu is more about escaping an attack and getting back alive than in jumping up and down on some other guys corpse.

And that is why I feel it is well suited to self defense- if your idea of self defense is getting home alive.
