I have a question regarding a style known as Bujoka. I have been in the m.a. life for around 13 years and have studied a few styles and have never heard of the name Bujoka. My best friend recently moved to L.A. and met some people in a local gym that where practicing thier style know to them as Bujoka. He has since then joined (his first m.a. training) the class. I am slightly skeptical since I have seen several "fly by night" schools that are only interested in money and are not actual instructors to begin with. Simply preying on unsuspecting newbees. My question is simple...has anyone ever heard of this style or where/who it came from?

I've never heard of it. Can you provide more details about it?

I don't recognize the name. It sounds like one of those names made up from the start of several arts' names--Budo, Jodo, Karate, or the like. Do you have a link?

I've never heard of it but like Arnisador said it looks famialr.
Bu: martial, implies something to do with fighting.
jo: stick or ten
ju: (if misspelled) soft or yeilding
ka: emptie hand, or practices.

so i guess it would mean something like ten martial hands, or yeilding martial hands, or something that my limited Japanese doesn't know.
