Anyone used one of Cold Steel's new synthetic bokkens? It looks kinda cool. CS claims that they're indestructible. I'm thinking about getting one.

I'm thinking about getting one. JAMJTX 09-12-2005, 03:29 AM This is news to me so obviously I have not tried one but in looking at the web site www.coldsteel.com (http://www.coldsteel.com) , for $30 I think it's worth a try. Jim Mc Coy Grenadier 09-12-2005, 10:02 AM There's a pretty good discussion over at Swordforum.com regarding these synthetic bokken, and the consensus is that they are too light for normal use. My opinion? Not worth it. If you want something that has excellent resistance to impact and doesn't break your bankroll, get one made of high quality hickory wood. Batleth 09-15-2005, 11:54 AM Thanks for the replies. I read in a product review that the CS Bokken vibrates a lot when stirking. Not what I'm looking for. So I pick up a traditional wooden one. |
