I have to tell this story 'cause the whole thing is just too funny not to.
We were doing a self-defense demo at one of our local ladies' fitness studios last night. Things were rolling along just fine until we got to the question and answer part of the program.
This woman came up to my husband with this smirk and asked what to do if someone grabbed her by the hair (you could tell by the look on her face that she was about to try something stupid). For those of you who know sd you know hair grabs are fairly easy to deal with. So he grabs a handful of her hair and instead of waiting for him to explain how to save her hair and then strike she went bananas. Started throwing wild punches all over the place (no power whatsoever) and kicks that didn't land anywhere so he wrapped her up in a rear bear hug, which she still could have gotten out of if she slowed down and listened to what he was trying to tell her.
Anyway, she latched onto his arm with her teeth. By this time the entire room was dead silent and I was just standing there with my mouth hanging open. Do I interfere or not? Not. Now my husband is very slow to anger but even he has his limits. So he picked up her, she's still hanging onto his arm with her teeth, and took her to the floor. There wasn't any force he just wanted to prove a point and he started throwing punches at her - no contact of course all the time trying to explain that what she was doing was WRONG and could get her seriously injured.
After she finally settled down he let her up and explained that at any time he could have knocked her out cold and after he got her to the ground she would have been in real trouble because she wasn't picking her targets, etc., etc.
She looked up at him and said "Well what I did worked, you let go of my hair." I couldn't stop myself, I just busted out laughing. She probably still thinks she got the better of him. There's always one in every crowd.
On a serious note, I hope she's never really attacked because she's going to be in deep you-know-what. Know-it-alls are worse than people who are fully aware that they don't have a clue but don't want to do anything about it.
