View Full Version : Muay Thai vs Judo MTisGreat 06-19-2002, 06:53 PM who would win? Bob Hubbard 06-19-2002, 11:21 PM Whomever was the better martialartist. Art matters less than skill and experience. :asian: Yari 06-21-2002, 07:18 AM Originally posted by MTisGreat who would win? None of them. This is a thought situation. A MAist wouldn't think it's the art that makes the answers, but the man trough the art. Therefor it wouldn't be realevant to talk about art vs. art. /Yari Kirk 06-21-2002, 04:53 PM Sounds like someone is interested in validating his own style. Why else would one come to a Japanese Arts forum, and bring up a Thai style? MTisGreat, are you looking to try to convert people, or just argue with them? KumaSan 07-04-2002, 03:23 AM I'm way late but have to throw my 2 cents in. It's less a function of the styles involved but how they are trained. Any style trained in a functional and realistic manor will have an advantage over someone training in an unrealistic way. RyuShiKan 07-08-2002, 09:04 PM Originally posted by MTisGreat who would win? It always reminds me of when I was a kid and someone would say "Superman can beat up Batman" tmanifold 08-22-2002, 04:03 PM Super man, duh!! I mean Yeh it is kinda of silly but one must remember that that was the basic premise of the UFC when it first began. So I guess alot of people really never gave up comics. Tony D.Cobb 08-25-2002, 08:05 AM Now this was told to me by a guy who trained in Thailand. He was at one stage the Muay Thai champ of New Zealand. His name is Terry Hill, if you check his background, he is all that and a bit more. First he told me the stories of the great Kung Fu masters that went to Thailand and got their asses handed to them by the Muay Thai guys. Then he told me of the great Karate masters thet went to Thailand and got their asses handed to them by the Muay Thai guys. Then he told me of great Judo players that went to Thailand and handed a bunch of Muay Thai guys their asses. Now you have to remember that all these fights were fought under Muay Thai rules. These Judo guys are the reason that ground fighting is not allowed in competition these days. Q: You want to know who would win? A: The side that changes the rules to suit themselves. If you mean without rules, then it would depend entirely on the practitioner. I hope this answered your question:D --Dave MartialArtist 08-29-2002, 01:44 AM Originally posted by MTisGreat who would win? Too blind as you see matters this way And yeah, your name is MTisGreat, you must be unbias and open-minded, huh ace 09-26-2002, 02:06 AM It has happend before in the UFC & Super brall It is not the style but the person Using it I feel both are great forms of Martial Arts In the UFC it was The Judo man. In Super Brall It was the Thai Boxer. But The Thai Guy new enough Grappling to get up off the ground At this point in time there is no one style When thinking of self defence 1 should learn as much as possiable As Martial Artist We can never know enough Primo |
