There's a Mixed Martial Arts Expo in Toronto in May. It looks very interesting - 16 sessions over two days, pick your choice of instructors/styles.

It includes 4 women instructors so far (out of 44):

Darlene Kranstz (http://mixedmartialartsexpo.com/popups/page12.htm) – 5th Dan Jiu Jitsu – 4X World Champion
Patricia Blok (http://mixedmartialartsexpo.com/popups/page20.htm) – 5th Dan Yoshinkai Aikido; 5th Dan WKF
Linda Langerak (http://mixedmartialartsexpo.com/popups/page62.htm) – Self-Defense Instructor; Boxing; Muay Thai; JKD
Veronica DeSantos (http://mixedmartialartsexpo.com/popups/page23.htm)– Master - Tae Kwon Do; 3X Gold Medallist

Anyone here close enough to check it out?

I had a blast at the Expo this weekend. I trained in Jiu Jitsu (x2), wrestling with Dan Severn, Irish Stick Fighting, Jeet Kune Do, and Systema (x4).

The Irish Stick Fighting was a hoot, but I think we should have had more protective gear on. I rapped my husband on the elbow, thumb and split his lip open with my stick. In turn, he cracked me across the base of my skull a couple of times. :)

Ah, marital bliss! Nothing like whaling on each other with large sticks while learning an obscure martial style for the first time! :)
I'm glad the female instructors were well-represented. It sounds like such fun. Janice posted a writeup over on russianmartialart.com, it was great to read. Thanks for reporting on this event, Janice!
