Does anybody have an idea of what the best types of wood are for the wing chun dummy?
ie-most durable-least cracks, etc.
if you have any personal experience, that would be helpful.
thanks

it seems like teak is a traditionally used wood from southern asia, some of these online manufacturers talk about using some type of hard pine. i dont really trust pine because it is a weak wood by nature. some of the mook jongs use oak on certain parts. oak seems to be pretty strong, but pretty breakable as well, so, i wouldnt trust it for any of the arms, maybe only the stand?
again, i really dont know what to look for, maybe we can get some more input.
detailed building instructions and a materials list would even be good. i would rather spend a couple days making one that i know is of a good quality.:p
