I would like to read and learn more about Kenpo and the Martial Arts in general. Are there any books that you have enjoyed reading that you would recommend?

- Thanks

One of my favorites: Zen and the Martial Arts by Hyams. Little book but valuable, and has a couple of views of senior kenpo instructors.

Hi, I think for a beginner a good one is, Karate's History and Traditions, by Bruce A. Haines, revised edition... Book of 5 rings. You can google, it will come up and you can read it on the net.

I know I'm kinda strange, and I promise I am not a japanophile, but one of my favorites is the Hagakura. Don't know why, maybe it was because of Ghost Dog.

Mine would be Shorinji Kempo, philosophy and techniques by Doshin So. It has a great section on the history of Kempo in China.
