Congratulations Gabriel!
Btw Enson, he got his 12th kyu not 11th but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu.

Congratulations Gabriel!
Btw Enson, he got his 12th kyu not 11th but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu.i thought 12th kyu was blue with white stripe? thats why i figured 11th because its solid blue... anyway when gmunoz comes back he can explain it more.
he would still just be a grey belt (student) in rtms! ha ha!!!! just a joke gmunoz!;)

As far as the stripe thing goes, that is how it is done in the actual dojo. With the "at home" thing, there are just the solid color belts. So, technically he is a solid Blue. So I would just say 11th kyu.

but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu.Is it? my Bujinkan instructor uses 9 or 10 kyu ranks. what gives?

yeah, I'm curious about that too.

Sorry to butt in, but does ToShinDo have 20 kyu levels?

Kinda like having 10 kyu's with half-steps in-between?

Again, sorry for the interruption.

And congratulations for the promotion! Train well, and keep learning!

Half belts are used in alot of systems...A kenpo school I attended for example had 2 levels for each color belt upto brown.

Is that one video tape per belt?

Bob Hubbard

1 per belt seems common, though 1 video project I did for a client did 3 belts per tape, then each black belt level on it's own.

There are three DVD's in each belt :

Mountain of Strength/Yellow/Earth Realm : 3 DVD
Waves of Power/Blue/Water Realm : 3 DVD
Lightning Strikes/Red/Fire Realm : 3 DVD
Eye of the Storm/Green/Wind Realm : 3 DVD
