Congratulations!!! :-partyon: Cryozombie 11-19-2004, 10:07 PM Congrats Gmunoz. Vadim 11-20-2004, 01:13 AM Congrats to Gmunoz! :asian: -Vadim jibran 11-20-2004, 08:35 AM Congratulations Gabriel! Btw Enson, he got his 12th kyu not 11th but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu. Enson 11-20-2004, 12:48 PM Congratulations Gabriel! Btw Enson, he got his 12th kyu not 11th but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu.i thought 12th kyu was blue with white stripe? thats why i figured 11th because its solid blue... anyway when gmunoz comes back he can explain it more. he would still just be a grey belt (student) in rtms! ha ha!!!! just a joke gmunoz!;) peace Satt 11-20-2004, 01:50 PM As far as the stripe thing goes, that is how it is done in the actual dojo. With the "at home" thing, there are just the solid color belts. So, technically he is a solid Blue. So I would just say 11th kyu. Limeydog 11-20-2004, 04:47 PM Hey Gmunoz, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Wear your belt with pride. You deserve it for all your hard work. Looking forward to sharing mat time with you guys at the September festival. Regards jibran 11-21-2004, 06:24 AM Sorry, you guys are right. Shogun 11-30-2004, 10:23 PM but it is, as you said, equivelent to Bujinkan 6th kyu.Is it? my Bujinkan instructor uses 9 or 10 kyu ranks. what gives? Shizen Shigoku 12-01-2004, 12:01 AM yeah, I'm curious about that too. Sorry to butt in, but does ToShinDo have 20 kyu levels? Kinda like having 10 kyu's with half-steps in-between? Again, sorry for the interruption. And congratulations for the promotion! Train well, and keep learning! Bob Hubbard 12-01-2004, 12:51 AM Half belts are used in alot of systems...A kenpo school I attended for example had 2 levels for each color belt upto brown. jibran 12-01-2004, 02:43 AM To-Shin Do Grading System White belt Yellow belt Blue-White= Ju-ni kyu Blue= Ju-ik kyu Blue-Black= Ju-kyu Red-White= Kyu-kyu Red= Hachi-kyu Red-Black= Nana-kyu Green-White= Rok-kyu Green= Go-kyu Green-Black= Yon-kyu Brown-White= San-kyu Brown= Ni-kyu Brown-Black= Ik-kyu Black= Shodan and above Shizen Shigoku 12-01-2004, 02:47 AM Thank you! Nice. Very colorful. gmunoz 12-05-2004, 02:37 AM yeah, I'm curious about that too. Sorry to butt in, but does ToShinDo have 20 kyu levels? Kinda like having 10 kyu's with half-steps in-between? Again, sorry for the interruption. And congratulations for the promotion! Train well, and keep learning! Thanks everybody for the support! I really appreciate it! To-Shin Do has 15 kyu levels. Belts are: white, yellow, blue, red, green, brown, and black. Everything past yellow has 3 kyu's while yellow has 2 and white 1. still learning 12-05-2004, 05:11 AM Hello, Keep up the hardwork. Good going! Always train hard....Aloha RRouuselot 12-05-2004, 10:25 AM Thanks everybody for the support! I really appreciate it! To-Shin Do has 15 kyu levels. Belts are: white, yellow, blue, red, green, brown, and black. Everything past yellow has 3 kyu's while yellow has 2 and white 1. Is that one video tape per belt? Bob Hubbard 12-05-2004, 11:14 AM 1 per belt seems common, though 1 video project I did for a client did 3 belts per tape, then each black belt level on it's own. Limeydog 12-05-2004, 11:37 AM There are three DVD's in each belt : Mountain of Strength/Yellow/Earth Realm : 3 DVD Waves of Power/Blue/Water Realm : 3 DVD Lightning Strikes/Red/Fire Realm : 3 DVD Eye of the Storm/Green/Wind Realm : 3 DVD Bester 12-05-2004, 11:45 AM That looks like alot of information (assuming 2 hr per dvd). Enson 12-06-2004, 01:48 PM alot of infromation is right... a grip of info!;) gmunoz 12-06-2004, 02:30 PM I know! Lots of info! Isn't it great? |
