Anyone on the forum going to the Mugai Ryu seminar in Jacksonville in May?
For those of you who are interested:
The Chintokan Dojo in Jacksonville Fl is hosting Shiokawa Soke from Japan for an Iai and Jo Seminar. He is the 15th Grandmaster in the lineage of Mugai Ryu Iaido.
You can check out their website for the details.

Perhaps a bit about the lineage, in general terms, and a bit about the philosophy--do they tend to use techniques only starting from standing, or from one knee up, or also from seiza? What is distinctive about it other than its specific collection of techniques?
No, please don't post a huge amount of info.--I'm hoping for just the one-paragraph summary! Thanks!

This style is discussed in the current EJMAS journal The Iaido Newsletter:
