Work toward my black belt (Testing in July). I have a lot to improve by then. My instructor thinks I'm doing really well, but I think I still need work. Specially on grappling. I'm a technique geek, so I always work on technique.

For 2004 I want to do the following -
Become a better instructor
Improve my use of angles when sparring
Get my 2nd degree
Lose forty pounds
Get all my students to test for at least one rank
Go to China
Be a better student
That's all I can think of now. I hope I accomplish even more.

My main goal is to spar more, I don't do much now so that should be easy.

My goals are simply to be a better fighter.
I want to increase my skill level in pure straightforward fighting. I wnat to increase my feel, my yielding, and my mindset of not trying to force a technique, but allowing my opponent to dictate what happens.

For the early part of 2004:
Train, train, train for my BB test 3/13/04
Lose as much of the 40 pounds as I can by then.
After that:
Just enjoy doing whatever I chose to do and with whomever I do it with.
See where my journey takes me.

My goals for 2004,
Train Harder
Increase my cardio
Lose some of my excess fat
Increase my knowledge, of pressure point techniques
Change systems of martial training.
My reason for the last one, is that I have just graded to Nidan. In a blackbelt grading of around 30 - 40 people, no one failed, and half of the people going for Shodan didn't know Naihanchi Shodan, which we learn at Blue belt, but they still passed. For this priviledge I paid $480.00. I feel that I am more than ready for the rank, but I don't feel that I have graded to it.

Massive gradings and everyone passed regardless. The only way to fail was a)not pay the testing fee b)fail the physical. The quality of your technique and the knowledge of theory was not important. Needless to say, I too left that school.

improve my cardio, technique, power, forms, speed, sparring, test for my next belt level sometime in march. There is always room for improvement.
I train daily for a few hours, so i don't have to worry about not training enough, which is great.
